Mindline South Devon & Torbay
About the opportunity
This opportunity is for those wanting to offer up their time on an ad hoc basis to promote our Mental Health & Wellbeing listening service, Mindline South Devon & Torbay. Promotion includes distribution of posters and information about our service to GP Surgeries, NHS Clinics, Wellbeing Centres, Community Centres, Cafés, and Libraries etc. along with attendance at local Fayres and Community events. Training and ongoing support will be provided throughout including a monthly catch up with the project leader. Volunteers will provide valuable feedback to our commissioners at quarterly contract meetings. Volunteers are invited to monthly group supervision attended by all Mindline volunteers held in Taunton.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for self-motivated people who have some understanding of the local mental health and community services providing support and care to those needing it. Detailed knowledge of mental health is not essential but empathy of how mental ill health can impact the lives of an individual and those around them is important.
When can you do this role?
There are no fixed hours to this role though we expect local services to be visited twice a year to refresh posters and update information. Monthly catch up will be at a mutually agreed time. Quarterly meeting with commissioners are at scheduled times. Working with the project leader, we expect Mindline to be represented at local public events as and when they take place throughout the year. Travel expenses will be covered, some restrictions may apply.
