Digital Marketing Volunteer

About the opportunity

Mind in Taunton & West Somerset are looking for a Digital Marketing Volunteer to help us promote our Transgender helpline, Mindline Trans+, our Mental Health for Sports & Physical Awareness Workshops and some of our other projects through creating content for our social media outlets and to broaden our online audience.

What are we looking for?

A person who is able to work on their own Initiative who is bright, enthusiastic, friendly and has a ‘can do attitude’ and good knowledge of social Media and marketing.

You will have experience of using Photoshop (or similar applications) video editing software and some knowledge of coding.

You will also have some knowledge of mental health and the issues faced by people in the Transgender community either through lived experience or through previous volunteering or paid employment roles.

You will have exceptional organizational and communication skills and empathy with those who need help with their recovery journey

Fundrasing coordinator 

About the opportunity

we are seeking an enthusiastic volunteer to co-ordinate community fundraising activities. We have the team and the commitment so we just need YOU!

What are we looking for?

A passionate person with an interest in mental health to lead and co-ordinate a  landmark fundraising event and other activities.

You will have exceptional organizational and communication skills and empathy with those who need help with their recovery journey

Trustee

About the opportunity

To govern the organisation by the broad policies developed by the board; – Establish overall long and short-term goals, objectives and priorities for Mind in Taunton & West Somerset in meeting the needs of the community; – Recommend policy to the board; – Promote the organisation through community networking, etc; – Be accountable to the funders for the services provided and funds expended; – Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the organisation through a regular review of programmes and services; – Provide candid and constructive criticism, advice and comments; – Approve major actions of Mind in Taunton & West Somerset, such as capital expenditure and major programme ad service changes; – Annually review the performance of the board and take steps to improve its performance;

What are we looking for?

– Knowledge and skills in one or more areas of board governance, e.g.: policy, finance, programmes or personnel. – Commitment to the work of Mind in Taunton & West Somerset; – Willingness to serve on at least one committee; – Attendance at board meetings monthly; – An approximate time commitment of five hours per month (includes board preparation, meeting and committee meeting time; – Attendance at Annual General Meeting – Be informed of the services provided by Mind in Taunton and West Somerset and publicly support them; – Prepare for and participate in the discussions and the deliberation of the board; – Be aware of and abstain from any conflict of interest.

When can you do this role?

Times and days are flexible, however, must be able to attend meetings on a monthly basis.

Mindline Somerset Volunteer

About the opportunity

This opportunity is Ideal for those wanting to improve their listening skills. All training provided including mental health awareness and telephone listening. Gain personal satisfaction and a sense of achievement by experiencing the diversity of telephone support. Applications encouraged from people who have had experience of mental distress or have an understanding of what mental distress may mean for others.

What are we looking for?

Good listening skills, must be able to hold a clear conversation for up to 30 minutes at a time. Experience of mental distress is encouraged but not essential as full training will be given

When can you do this role?2 evenings a month with flexible dates to fit your timetable (2 x 8pm – 11pm – Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat & Sun) and 1 x 6.45pm -9.30pm every last Monday of the month. Also regular I to 1 support when required. Travel expenses paid up to 15 miles from Taunton including taxi
